It’s no secret that I love Pinterest. It’s one of the greatest things to ever happen to me awesome! If you haven’t joined yet, seriously, what are you waiting for… I’m telling you, it’s life changing!
It was integral in planning oldest child’s 4th birthday… I now have a constant visual reminder of all the amazing crafts, gifts, foods, and activities that I had planned on doing for the party but didn’t have time to!
Seriously though, I found this “recipe” (I use this term lightly as it doesn’t really have any real ingredients or preparation involved) for Crescent Pepperoni Roll Ups and thought that they would be easy, tasty, and perfect for little hands. Although I didn’t get the chance to make them for oldest child’s party, I did make them one evening for the kids to take to lunch and they were a big hit! They were just as easy as I imagined them to be, they were super cute, and the kids loved them! What more could I ask for? I kept two of the finished roll ups out for the kids lunches and then threw the rest in a reusable, resealable freezer friendly container for use on a lazy lunch day!
Much like the english muffin mini pizza’s of earlier, these Roll Ups have the possibility to be adjusted to taste as well. That said however, not sure how well some veggies, or fruits would work as they give off more juices when baking which might end in a mess, but definitely worth a try! Next time I make these it will be with veggie pepperoni so I can eat them too! If you’ve made these before with anything other than pepperoni, be sure to leave a comment and let me know how they turned out!
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
- Pepperoni Slices
- 4 cheese strings, cut in half
- Pizza Sauce
Instructions: |
- Preheat oven to 375
- Unroll crescent rolls and separate into 8 triangles. Put a small dollop of pizza sauce on the widest part of the triangle. Place desired amount of pepperoni on each crescent roll making sure that it doesn’t stick out further than the crescent roll. Put cheese string half on top of pepperoni and roll up. Place rolls on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
NOTE: Once the roll ups were… Rolled up, I tucked the edges of the crescent roll under to the bottom of the roll to stop any cheese or other juices from dripping out too much. The instructions didn’t say to do this, but I didn’t want the end result to look like every pizza pop I’ve ever put into the microwave.
Enjoy!
