Happy Independence Day / 4th of July to all my American friends… No to ALL of my friends!
I am Canadian through and through, however, between living in a border city, and the fact that my family has had a home in the US since before I was born means that I have spent a LOT of time down south. This also means that I consider American to be part of my culture. In fact, many of my American friends call me a Pseudo American, and it’s not uncommon for me to be mistaken for an American!
Aside from my American ties, I think it’s tremendously important that all people, especially children, learn about not only our own Country, but the Countries around us.
So we don’t wind up like this…
So today’s Bento Lunch pays homage to the USA, our beautiful neighbour to the South (And North in fact!)
This lunch consists of a Maple Leaf Natural Selections Ham and Cheese American Flag Sammie with blueberry and ham accents. A side of quinoa salad, and some Red, White, and Blue Strawberries made with hand dyed coconut and royal icing (don’t even get me started on the epic fail that these were at 11:00pm last night… Who knew it was so hard to melt chocolate?!) All packed in our EasyLunchBoxes!
Things I used to make this lunch:
Enjoy!

No better way to celebrate our independence than with stripes made of ham 😉 This is so cute! Thanks for celebrating with us Americans in your own way!
