We have been one on-the-go family this winter. Between weekend ski trips, daily commuting, and all of our regularly scheduled programming, it seems I’ve put more mileage on my car in the last 6 months than I have in the 6 years I’ve owned it!
As important as safety ratings and special vehicle features were when choosing my car, I know and value the importance of keeping your car in tip top shape to ensure that it’s performing as it’s meant to. Now, I know I’m guilty for occasionally skipping my “regularly scheduled, routine maintenance”, but that one thing that I do religiously is get my oil changed. From the time my parents bought me my very first car at 16, it was drilled into me that if there’s anything I need to make sure to do, it’s have a routine oil change.
In anticipation of an upcoming road trip, I wanted to make sure that both my car and I were ready for the trip, and decided to maximize my multi-taking potential by getting an oil change at my local Walmart Auto Care Centre.
I pulled up to my local Walmart Automotive Care Center and there was a large line up in front of me. A few moments into the wait, a technician came to my window and asked me what type of oil change I wanted. Clueless, he explained the different Pennzoil options to me and made a recommendation of the conventional motor oil (the characteristic yellow pennzoil bottle), a traditional oil base, fortified with Active Cleaning Agents™ to continuously prevent dirt and contaminants from creating performance-robbing deposits, based on my vehicles needs and the fact that despite all my driving, I was neither high mileage or premium. I was also given the option of replacing my wiper blades and air filter if required. He advised that this extra work would only be performed if it was absolutely required which was reassuring.
After selecting my oil change, I was told that it would be about an hour until my car was completed. This gave me just enough time to shop! The tech provided me with a handy slip of paper with a bar code on it that when scanned, would allow me to see the up to the minute status of my car!
Super awesome feature! Although it was no surprise that my car was done before I was and the auto center was nice enough to let me leave my car in their lot while I finished my shopping.
When I was ready to pay, they thoroughly reviewed my invoice with me, told me about the awesome Pennzoil Warranty that covers 15 engine parts that may fail due to engine wear or which experience abnormal wear due to friction, and sent me on my way!
I’m happy knowing that my family and I are safe behind the wheel of my car, and that I was able to have my oil changed in a economical, quick, and convenient way.
