First off, I want to say a big ‘ole HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my American friends, family, and readers. I hope that you all have lovely days planned surrounded by the ones you love. That’s one of my favorite things about the holidays!
Today I bring to you a super fantastic DIY fall centerpiece for your table on the cheap, even at the last minute! I am, and always have been the queen of procrastination (sorry kids, you’ll likely inherit this from me!), however this has afforded me the ability to come up with cute and crafty ideas in a pinch!
Enter, super fantastic Fall/Thanksgiving centerpieces! So not only are these cute, multi-functional, and easy, but they were cheap too, and can very likely be created with items that you have on hand… I didn’t even need a glue gun!
What you’ll need:
- Clear glass hurricane vase (or something similar, doesn’t need to be huge, mine’s about 10″)
- Pillar candle, slightly thinner than vase and about 1/2 the height
- Popcorn kernels
- Raffia
- Decorative leaves or foliage
What you’ll need to do:
Pay attention folks, this is big…
- Put hurricane vase on table
- Open bag of popcorn and dump enough into the vase so that the candle will be below the top when put in
- Level out popcorn and put candle on top
- Tie raffia all Martha-like around the vase, approximately at the top of the popcorn line
- Insert decorative leaves and/or foliage into the tied side of the raffia.
- Primp as required, set on table and admire you’re handy work!
I picked up all the items required for this at the dollar store (shocker)!
- 4 hurricane vases
- 4 candles
- A bag of popcorn
- A bag of raffia
- A bundle of decorative fall leaves
$11 plus tax, and 5 minutes of prep time, and your table can be dressed and ready to party!
Perhaps the best part, these can be easily adapted to the different seasons! I’ve got plans to out small ornaments or candy canes below the candle for Christmas!
Enjoy!

You weren’t kidding — that was pretty easy! And something i was able to do with stuff I already had around the house. And the kids could help!!

People would be amazed at what they can find at their local dollar stores! Crafts like this don’t need to be expensive, and, when you factor in how easy it is, your centerpiece will make your table look impressive!

My sister loves creating crafts like this. We might have to get together, along with the kids, and create a couple of these! I think it’ll be fun
