Public transit has a special place in my heart. As an elementary school student I would grab the three shiny quarters my mom left on the counter for me each day and catch the bus to school. It was a short trip down Lynne Valley Road from my house to my school, but it was the beginning of my foray into independence.
Public transit in Metro Vancouver consists of the bus, SeaBus, SkyTrain, and West Coast Express. The first three of these modes took me on many an adventure as a youth and young adult, and they continue to do so now as an adult and mother of two increasingly independent children.
My kids have grown (so much as they can in their 8 and 9 years) to love transit too, and I’m super excited to be a part of launching TransLink’s new online merchandise store! Following in the footsteps of the TTC, New York, and London, locals and visitors can now show off their love of Metro Vancouver wherever their journey takes them!

Like you I have many fond memories from my youth of having to take transit. I heavily relied on the bus to get to ortho appointments, the mall and the list could go on. Now as an adult it is the commuter train that gets me to meetings and events. Funny how times change and we all grow with the system.
These products are so cute – which reminds me that I really need to pick some TTC ones – perfect for the urban Toronto dweller this holiday season.
