Can you believe that even though I’m a born and raised Lower Mainlander, I had never been to the Vancouver International Children’s Festival? Well, it’s true. I was however lucky enough to get to take my own kids over this past weekend. We had an absolute blast! There were so many fun activities for the kids and adults to participate in. I may or may not have embarrassed myself trying to show my kids my hula hoop abilities (this folks, is NOT just like riding a bike!).

It probably wont come as much of a surprise that I only just found out that Whistler also has their own annual Children’s Festival as well. Celebrating it’s 30th anniversary (I know, what rock have I been hiding under?) this year’s festival runs from July 13th to 14th. Previously held at Creekside, the Whistler Children’s Festival is all grown up and moving out to the amazing Whistler Olympic Plaza to accommodate the estimated 5,000 people who will be in attendance! With over 19 workshops available (register online here), you and your family are sure to find something to enjoy.
