So to prove that I do love Canada, today’s bento is a belated tribute to the land of the free! Not gonna lie, totally felt guilty for giving love to the USA, and leaving Canada in the bento dust, but really… Who wants to celebrate their birthday on the actual day anyways?!
So alas, 4 days late, but better late then never, my Canada Day Bento!
In this bento: Cream cheese and jam sammie, edamame beans, greek yogurt with heart sprinkles, letter pretzels, mini dill rice cakes |
I realized after I feverishly got this lunch together, that aside from the strawberry rhubarb jam there’s no fruit in this lunch… Oops… So not pictured I tossed in one of those super healthy fruit and veggie bars that I suppose can be a suitable substitution for fruit but have 8 gagillion grams of sugar in them (The irony here is that I caught the husband trying to give one to the boy child yesterday morning to which I told him not to as there’s far too much sugar in them… Parenting FAIL!).
See!! Even breakfast is patriotic with all those red and pink sprinkles! |
You are viewing breakfast right… I dressed up plain old rice crispies (that my kids eat almost every day! Fully expecting a revolt some day soon!) with marshmallows and sprinkles! It’s always good to make sure the daycare ladies are earning their keep provide well balanced meals with variety… Ya… Something like that.
Enjoy!
