What little girl (and boy in today’s case as both kids got the same lunch!) doesn’t love Hello Kitty? And interesting character, that I don’t really understand. Whoever created Hello Kitty must be one insanely rich person as this cat has made come back, after come back, after come back. I’m not particularly a fan, especially when it comes to seeing middle aged women walking around entirely accessorized in Hello Kitty… I dunno, call me old fashioned I guess, but I’ve always thought that you should keep cartoon shirts on kids, but what do I know… It’s highly likely that every other middle aged woman in Vancouver probably looks at me wondering why I’m not wearing a Hello Kitty shirt… Ah well, I guess this lunch will have to suffice!
Despite the fact that I’m not a hard core Hello Kitty lover, I’m a fan of all things cute, and she is pretty cute! I’m also a lover of all things bento, so when I saw these online I had to have them (shocker).
I purchased a Hello Kitty egg mold as well as a set of cookie press/cutters to make mini sammies with. I don’t know what size eggs they have in China, but I buy XL eggs and it was far too small to fit in the mold so I used left over rice instead with accents drawn on with icing color. The mini sammies are chicken and cheese and too cute for words! Also in this lunch are carrots, raisins, sliced apple, and my favorite President’s Choice Alphabet Pretzels (Can you spot the awesome minor detail?!)

Enjoy!

As a woman in her 50’s who loves Hello Kitty (yes, I have one T-shirt), I love your H-K lunch 🙂 As for the size of the eggs – perhaps they use duck eggs?
(If it makes you feel better, I don’t accessorize head to toe in Hello Kitty, but I do have a few H.K. things around the house. But since I do like pink, I do like kitties, and as you pointed out, she is cute 😉 )

So cute! And I have to admit, I just got a Hello Kitty shirt and I love it. And I am nearly 40 years old, ha ha!!!
