Being a mom of two kids, I’ve seen a LOT of firsts. First words, First teeth, First steps, and in my case First surgeries (yes, surgeries as I’ve been through one with both kids!)
Today, was the day that the biggest kid got to have his first foray into the world of Bento lunch making! I couldn’t resist really when his inquisitive little face told me that he wanted to make cool lunches like this when he grew up!
Everybody now… Awwwwwweeee!
Anyways, he’s five and really with a little help is quite capable of making his own lunch with moderate assistance. Today he picked out a bagel with cream cheese (I cut the bagel) that he spread on himself with a butter knife all while divulging the secrets of how to get the perfect ratio of bagel to cream cheese. Cucumber medallions, craisins, a hard boiled egg, as well as peanut butter and Cheerio banana slices!
We had a blast cutting up a peeled banana, slathering the outside with peanut butter, and then rolling the sides in Cheerios. Delish! Smooth and creamy and crunchy too! A perfect snack in his first self made bento lunch!
I’m so excited to share with you that Cheerios is bringing back the First Cheerios Campaign in celebration of all the wonderful firsts that we’re so lucky to witness. As part of this program, YOU can head on over to Life Made Delicious and take part in the mosic yourself! By simply uploading a picture you will receive a $1.00 off coupon (legal details: One $1.00 off coupon per household, per calendar year, while supplies last).
Also, make sure that you are on the look out for the 2013 mosaic on Cheerios boxes found in stores now to have a glimpse into what the 2014 mosaic will look like!

What a creative lunch. I love the banana with peanut butter and rolled in Cheerios. I would take that on my own lunch. Thanks Sarah
