What comes to mind when you think about furniture shopping? It’s likely one of two things:
Ugh, hours spent walking a huge, yet stuffy showroom with some salesperson chasing you down insisting you need this couch that just so happens to come with a free T.V. if you buy today.
or
No thanks! I pay-and-pray from the comfort of my own home thanks to online shopping. Sure, sometimes what I purchased winds up being dollhouse sized, or ash grey not heather grey as advertised. But, at least I didn’t have to leave my house!
Well, you’re in luck! I recently had the chance to check out Leon’s flagship store in Coquitlam, and they’re changing the way you shop for furniture!
“We want to combine the convenience of online shopping with the trusted assistance and customer service that Leon’s is known for,” says Leon’s Divisional President, Mike Walsh.
Shop Smart
Leon’s Furniture is Canada’s largest retailer of furniture, appliances and electronics. Typically known for their large-scale stores, the newest location in Coquitlam, B.C., is just 15,000 sq. ft. What it lacks in traditional size, it certainly makes up for through innovative tech features throughout the store.
An 11-foot video wall allows shoppers to view any product in real size! This installation provides a cool new way for shoppers to interact with Leon’s product line.
Check out Leon’s website – at home or in store – to see products in augmented reality alongside items in the showroom or your very own bedroom! No more questioning if it’ll fit with your current furniture or space.
A virtual catalog is available through four touchscreen stations throughout the store. Scan a QR code for additional product information, or view products and custom colours not available on the showroom floor.
Shop Green
Appliance prices are listed on e-tags so customers know they’re getting the best, most competitive price, along side Leon’s 60-Day Price Guarantee. Reducing Leon’s overall carbon footprint by reducing printing and disposing of outdated product signage. Feel good knowing your shopping green!
So whether you’re an online or in-person shopper, Leon’s has come a long way since its first store opened in 1909.
If you haven’t shopped Leon’s before, make sure to check out the Coquitlam flagship at 1395 United Boulevard.
Online or in person? What kind of shopper are you?

Hi Sarah
I’m from the Uk and this store reminds me of Ikea. They seem to have similar layouts and colours too. I have to say the above pic you have does look amazingly scenic!
I’m not sure if Ikea is big in Canada but over here it is huge.
However, sometime I can’t be asked to walk around all day browsing things so I prefer to buy online.
I know it’s not the same as real-life viewing, but as long as the site has many images and a good description i’ll buy the item. Nowadays many offer no quibble returns too, so if you don’t like the item you can return it mo problem.
Love your blog, keep it up!

Hey there!
Thanks for stopping by! This store is much smaller than IKEA, but just as great! ☺️ in fact, it’s just down the street from IKEA! And yes, IKEA is pretty big here in Canada too.
