Little Birdy Bento Lunch

The long weekend has come and gone, and the blue sky, high temperatures, and constant chirping of the neighbourhood birds indicate that summer is in full swing. Today’s lunch is just that.

Last week I attended a Blogger event at the Roadhouse Grille. Super cosy, trendy little spot nestled just off of King George Highway, in White Rock. They have a few different spaces within the restaurant that you can enjoy, a Retro Dining Room (with amazing authentic retro pieces that the owners have picked up during their travels!), a Deco Dining Room, Martini Lounge and Bar, and a Garden Patio and Atrium. It’s really a stunning establishment with many of the eccentric pieces of furniture custom designed and built by the owner, Dwayne. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area, and if you’re not, I highly recommend making the trip out there! You wont be disappointed.

The night we were there was an open mic night for musicians 19 years old and under. Some really amazing local, young talent was featured. In fact, the owner runs an annual competition that grants the winner a recording contract scholarship! How cool is that?! I absolutely love businesses that give back, and this restaurant certainly does!

Attached to the side of the restaurant is the Roadhouse Bake Shoppe, and I was lucky enough to get sent home with a delicious loaf of  SunnySeed Bread which we have quickly devoured. The bake shoppe also has gluten free bread and delicious desserts and cheeses. Make sure you pick something up to take home with you before leaving!
