Taco Tuesday will never be the same. This I promise you!
I have a love-hate relationship with those “Why didn’t I do this sooner?” moments.
This was one of those moments.
4 ingredients, 7 steps, under an hour, and you too can have better than store bought flour tortillas just in time for dinner!
This is honestly one of the easiest recipes I’ve made in a long time, and I can’t believe I didn’t make these sooner. In fact it was so easy it hardly seems like it qualifies as being a real recipe. Tortillas are a staple in our house as they’re so versatile and great for a variety of different meals, so to find out that it’s not only easy, but quick, cheap and delicious to make your own from scratch, well, this momma is a happy camper!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 1/2 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Cup Warm Water
Directions:
- Mix flour, oil, and salt together in a large bowl
- Add warm water and knead until the dough is no longer sticky and pulls off your hands easily
- Cover bowl with towel and let sit for 30 minutes
- Make dough balls roughly the size of a golf ball
- Roll each ball as thin as possible without tearing (aprox. 1/8 inch thick)
- Place on an ungreased, preheated pan or grill and cook until bubbles form, flip and continue cooking until bubbles are golden brown. I cooked the tortillas on my cast iron grill on a low-medium setting (3)
note: Cook on a lower heat making sure not to over cook your tortillas or they will become more like chips and you’ll wind up dipping crispy tortillas straight into the salsa jar at 9pm like I did.
It’s honestly ridiculous how easy these are, and I can guarantee that store bought tortillas will no longer be on my grocery list!
What’s your favorite thing to put in a tortilla?
Enjoy!

Thank you for the recipe! They look very easy so that might be something I can handle!;) We love fajitas at our house. Chicken and beef meat, tri color peppers and onions cooked with the meat, cheese, guacamole, fresh cilantro, tomatoes. Yummy! I just may try these out tonight! Thank you for sharing!
