The kids took a daycare field trip to the animal shelter the other date (side note: Pretty sure that this field trip is any parents nightmare) and ever since they’ve been asking for a puppy or a kitty. My son even proclaimed quite adamantly that the kitties were “one sale! Mommy you love sales!” which is precisely why we had to get one!

Anyways, we’re not quite at the get a family pet stage yet, despite the fact that I would LOVE a cat that could take care of the spider issue we seem to have in our house, but alas… When the kids are a little older.As a compromise, I went to Ikea and picked up these super cute lunch boxes that were only $1.99 not on sale! The best part is that they don’t need to be walked, fed, cleaned up after, and they’re just as cute as a real puppy! Well, the kids didn’t exactly share the sentiment, but they’ve learned to take what they can get!
