Over the past few months I have been super serious about getting fit. Four years post baby is a little long to be trying to lose the baby weight. Cardio is a huge part of my life and I’ve really learned to love running. Last summer I joined a lunch time running group which was great for not only motivation, but for safety as well. Problem is, I don’t always have a running buddy, and when I run alone I like to crank up the volume and tune out the world. Probably not the safest thing for a single chick running.

The app has a “Follow-me” feature which allows users’ friends and family to track them in real-time whenever they are concerned for their safety. A great feature for the late night runner, or in my case the solo sometimes runs through the woods runner. I’m also an avid transit user and often travel by myself late at night, a simple click of the “I’m Safe” button on your smartphone alerts friends and family on the other end of the app that you’ve arrived safe and sound at your destination. The app also allows you to trigger an SOS alert which sends a link to your GPS location to your select emergency contacts via text or email. An added feature is the ability to send the alert directly to their Facebook or Twitter accounts as well. Upon the trigger of an SOS alert, users are prompted to call 911.
