As a kid, my baseball team would religiously be found celebrating our victories (and likely our losses), by hitting up the local Dairy Queen in Lynn Valley. It’s a memory I fondly cherish, and reminisce about anytime I visit that store. My teammates and I would sit in our grass stained white jerseys (who gives a kids ball team white jerseys anyways?!) recalling the plays of the game with MLB passion, laughing while our parents watched on from nearby tables.
Today, I carry the tradition on with my own kids, taking them to our local DQ after sporting events or activities to enjoy the same soft serve of my past. We laugh and we share, and often bump in to friends who are imparting the same traditions on their kids as I am on mine.
While some things have stayed the same over the years, like my fave – the simple chocolate dipped cone. Dairy Queen has also raised the bar in the ice cream game by stocking their menus with our timeless faves, but also with mouth watering blizzards, cakes, and even cupcakes!
This February, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, Dairy Queen is offering Red Velvet Cupid Cake and Red Velvet Blizzard Cupcakes. Seriously, to die for!
If you’re looking to impress your valentine this year, I strongly suggest you hit up your local DQ or check out their website and order online!

The red velvet cake blizzard cake was requested for upcoming birthday celebration but I’m concerned when I read one review that commented that the cake pieces were dry and chalky and didn’t add anything to the nice cream cheese/vanilla ice cream combo flavor. It’s not a cheap dessert to purchase and would appreciate hearing experience from others. Thank you!!
Why don’t you have strawberries cakes with no chocolate
