Trick-or-treat, smell my feet, give me something good to… watch?
Halloween also happens to be my dads birthday, which means after trick-or-treating is done, and we’ve finished blowing shit up (fireworks are kind of a big deal in our family), we finish off the night with a good ‘ole small screen scare.
Much like your annual trick-or-treating route map, Netflix has compiled a road map of some of the most spool-tacular TV shows and movies on Netflix this Halloween. Ranked from kid-friendly to scared-for-your-life, you’re bound to find something to give you just the amount of fright for your night.
Here’s my five personal favourite Halloween movies available on Netflix:
The Exorcist
Cast: Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, Kurt Egyiawan
Follows three priests dealing with cases of a demonic presence targeting a family and a foster home.
The Walking Dead
Cast: Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs
In the wake of a zombie apocalypse, survivors hold on to the hope of humanity by banding together to wage a fight for their own survival.
Friday the 13th
Cast: Kimberly Beck, Peter Barton, Corey Feldman
Hockey-masked psychopath Jason is back in business at Camp Crystal Lake in the fourth (but far from final) chapter of the popular horror franchise.
Stranger Things
Cast: Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard
It’s been nearly a year since Will’s strange disappearance and his dramatic return to Hawkins. But life’s hardly back to normal. Not even close.
Bates Motel
Cast: Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Max Thieriot
When his father dies, Norman Bates and his mother open a hotel. But Norman’s precarious mental state drives them down a dark and violent path.
