Wanna know how to do it?! Follow me!
1. If your bread/bun isn’t fresh, it’s a good idea to nuke it for a couple seconds to get it nice and fresh like so the bread is less likely rip when you squish it.
2. Take your can of stewed Italian tomatoes and flatten your bread! (what’d you think the tomatoes were for!?)
Looking for the rolling pin is far too much work! |
3. Make sure your bread/bun is nice and flat. The flatter the better!
4. Spread on you Sun Butter and Jelly. Now, I’m no scientist, but I discovered through random trial and error rigorous high tech experimentation that it works better if you put the Sun Butter on first. If you’re feeling really dangerous, do it the other way… I dare you! Also, try to leave a little space from the edges, and especially the very end so all the good stuff doesn’t get squished out!
5. Roll it up the long skinny way, like you would a sushi roll, stopping with the seam on the bottom.
6. Cut your newly rolled sammie sushi in half, placing it cut side up on a plate or in a cute bento box, and voila, lunch is served!
See how easy that was! Now you too can make a traditional favorite into a new an exciting lunchbox favorite!
Enjoy!
