It’s sad, but true.
Summer is coming to a close.
The end of summer signifies kids returning to school, gloomier weather, and more weekend activities inside.
The forecast for this weekend is sunny and warm with a great chance personal encounters of the live marine invertebrate kind!
Head out to Celebrate! Stanley Park on August 24 & 25th to join the Vancouver Aquarium’s mobile education program, AquaVan in celebrating Stanley Park’s 125th birthday.
AquaVan educators will be on location at Lumberman’s Arch (behind the Family Stage) from 1-6pm on both days providing up close and personal encounters with a variety of live marine invertebrates, including live sea stars, crabs, anemones, and sea urchins!
The City of Vancouver and Vancouver Park Board have a huge line up of other family fun activites for the weekend as well. More details can be found here.
It is sure to be a great time! Hope to see you there!

If there’s one downside to August, it’s the fact that people are such downers about summer ending and school starting up. I don’t know how it is in Vancouver, but in Illinois fall has some of the most beautiful weather we get all year round, at least to my tastes.

Whoops, I didn’t mean to sound grumpy or call you a downer. It’s just a little observation I have. I’m an August birthday so things like the end of summer and the start of the school year aren’t what the month is about to me.
Also, are you saying AquaVan actually brings live sea animals to places? That’s really cool! How do they do that?
