Shhhh… Listen closely…
You hear that?!
…
It’s there, I assure you!
In case you can’t hear it yourself, it’s the sound of angels singing! The glorious bells of the heavens are ringing, and the angels are singing HALLELOUJA.
Today (minus the battle that I had with my son at 6am), is a wonderful day!
Today marks the end of the alphabet, Zee, Zed, oh how I’ve longed for you! As much fun as I’ve had doing my alphabet thematic unit, some days it was a royal pain… Like today for example, while making the zebra sammie was actually quite simple, garnering the motivation to get my lazy, half sauced arse up off the couch to make said zebra sammie was a whole other battle… But alas, I did, although I honestly considered just sending the kids to preschool this morning with $40 and telling the teachers to order pizza for the whole class. While I did have fun getting creative each day with set guidelines, albiet self-imposed, I’m very excited to start making some fun Halloween inspired lunches!
And yes… I was drinking on a Wednesday night… That’s what busy full-time working mom’s to two preschoolers do. If you meet one that tell’s you otherwise, she’s lying. At least that’s what I tell myself anyways. And I mean hey, there’s left over wine in the fridge from Thanksgiving that’s not gonna drink itself ya’know (and I know some of you are wondering what this “leftover wine” thing is). And really, it’s a big bottle taking up a lot of space in the fridge. The sooner it’s gone, the sooner I will have room for actual food for my family, so if you look at the bigger picture, drinking wine on a Wednesday makes me a better parent.
Now, before y’all try to stage an intervention, let’s get back to lunch.
Today’s lunch consists of a ham and cheese zebra sandwich with a hand cut nori face, leftover prawn pasta from last night, mini apple carrot muffins (delish! I will be sharing the recipe shortly!) that we made last night, plums, and some President’s Choice Alphabet Pretzels to pay homage to the now conquered alphabet!
Inspiration for today’s bento came from YulYanBento, I can’t for the life of me find a blog or website belonging to this super creative bentomaker, only a flickr page, which by the way has some other freaking amazing bento’s on it! 🙂
Things I used to make this lunch:
Enjoy!
