“Making school lunches is such a chore”

Have you ever been guilty of saying any of these things? With back to school upon us, I’ve been hearing so much disdain over lunch making I’m actually a little surprised, I do realize that some might classify me as a little odd with my love of lunch making, but believe me, it’s not always this way. But what I want to stress here is that lunch making doesn’t have to be a chore. It doesn’t have to take a pile of time, and with a little planning, organization, and lunchbox friendly foods like Schneiders Pepperettes (which require no cooking, no reheating, and are the perfect size to throw in the lunchbox), lunch can be quick and easy, and cute too!
In fact, just to stress my point I decided to make a little video tutorial to show you how long it takes me to make my kids lunches. That’s right, lunch-es, two of them… Now, they’re not Ninja Bentos, or Angry Birds, but it’s still cute, easy, and done (x2!) in under 10 minutes!
In fact, the amount of time it took me to set up my damn iPad and get my video complete probably took 10x longer than the entire bento process (including set up and take down!) did!
So here you go! My first foray into vlogging (please excuse the fact that I’m shiny and gross looking… Seriously, the set up of my video nearly killed me and it was like 8000 degrees in my house!)

That looks so good. It makes me want to dress my kiddo’s lunch up. I sent him with milk, can of chicken, peppers, granola bar and half a tortilla. All that got eaten was the milk, chicken and tortilla. Sigh. I never know what he’ll eat or not.
Oooh, sounds like great ingredients for a quesadilla! I love quesadilla’s because not only are they quick and easy, they’re a great avenue for hiding veggies! 🙂
How old is your son?
I do like making lunch… if I do it the day before! But if I forget the night before and have to do it in the morning I HATE it!!!
I’m with you on that one Katie! Nothing worse that the morning scramble to get breakfast ready, yourself ready, kids ready, lunch ready!
