In honour of the London 2012 Olympics I decided to make an Olympic themed bento today. I must tell you, I’m mildly in love with this one! I had a vision for this bento a couple weeks ago, and intended to create it earlier but got so busy I just couldn’t make time. Irony is it was very quick to make, and used up the left over pizza from dinner! Double win!!
I’ve always been a fan of the Olympics, but more so now than ever. Volunteering for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics was such an amazing experience I think I love the Olympics now more than ever just knowing all that goes on behind the scenes.
Can’t wait to watch the opening ceremonies tonight! Are you watching?

So creative to use the pizza upside down! What did you use for the flames? Cheese, fruit, and meat?
Sarah - MoreThanYourAverageMom says
Thanks!! The flames are made of leftover ham on the lower level, thinly sliced carrots on the next level, and marble cheese on the top level!

The flames on this bento are lovely! What kind of bread/muffin is that? It looks delicious!

Thanks! The flames are actually made with a leaf cookie cutter, as well as a little birdy cutter! 🙂
The bread is blueberry loaf (on the sides) that our old next door neighbour made us! Mmmm!
