If you’ve been following along on my Instagram channel, you may have virtually attended the Smalls most recent Cardiology check up at BC Children’s Hospital. I haven’t shared much of our Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) journey on the blog, but promise you I will at some point soon!
Ever since the Smalls CHD diagnosis at a mere 3 months old, we’ve been champions of all things BCCH.
While we’re not in the race, we’ll be supporting from afar as thousands of children, their parents, teachers and supporters will take to the streets around Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Park this Sunday, June 4th at 9 am, for the annual RBC Race for the Kids. This particular run is the largest family fun-run in Vancouver and raises much needed funds for pediatric oncology programs and mental health initiatives at BC Children’s Hospital.
Last year, more than 6,600 participants raised $1 million for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. This year, their aiming to raise the bar with $1.05 million, but they need your help! It’s not too late to register for the run (note: online registration closes at 5:30 om on Saturday June 3rd), or register at the run on Sunday June 4th between 7:30 am – 8:30 am. If running isn’t your thing, you can also support RBC Race for the Kids by volunteering in other ways, check out their website for more information on how you can help!
