Today we eagerly set off on our first family vacation of the year! A ski trip to Panorama Resort, a mountain I haven’t visited in many years. We are all very excited! The drive to the Interior of BC is a long one, and in order to minimize stopping time, and maximize nutrition, I decided to pack appropriately themed ski bento lunches in our EasyLunchBoxes for the kids to eat while on the road.
Not that they need any additional assistance in getting excited, I themed today’s lunch in that of our upcoming vacation!
I’ve expressed it before, but one of the key reasons for me making bento lunches is it helps the kids to enjoy foods that they normally wouldn’t. In this lunch, the skier is made with cucumber, carrots, yellow peppers, and Greek yogurt for the accents — All items that my typically good eaters would usually pass up in favour of the fruit or treat portion of the lunch. The veggie skier is skiing on a bed of snowy white rice. A Babybel cheese sun and some ham to round out the lunch. The top compartments have peanut butter pretzels and a kiwi!
Looking forward to hitting the slopes at Panorama!
