‘Twas the night before Grey Cup, when all through the streets
Every fan was a stirring, even BC!
The Cup had been polished and handled with care,
In hopes that a winner we soon would declare.
Team mascots were branded in their teams gear,
While visions of victory parties seemed to be near.
Ralph in his jersey, and T.C. with his flag,
Each of them feeling this win’s in the bag!
When down at the lobby, there arose such a clatter,
It took no time at all to see what was the matter.
A horse of course and from Cow Town to boot,
Are the Stamps looking for fans to recruit?
The Ticats don’t need animals to bring up their game
Their eight past wins have proved their fame.
Today the men’s eyes they will wander and see,
All CFL cheer teams chalk full of glee.
Leading the Grey Cup parade, and cheering them on
Will be CFL commissioner Mark Cohon.
More rapid than running backs out the cheer teams came,
And Mark whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Lions! Now Stamps! Now Eskimos and Riders!
On Bombers! On Ticats! On Argos, Redblacks and Alouettes!
To BC Place we will go and play some football!
Cheer away! Chant away! Cheer away all!
Only one more sleep ’til the ref blows his whistle,
And the football will be kicked through the air like a missile.
Fore quarters plus half time then we will see,
Which team will declare the 102nd Grey Cup victory!
