{THROWBACK THURSDAY} Seycove Senior Volleyball Trip – Hawaii ’99

I decided to get in on this whole TBT (Throwback Thursday) game when I stumbled upon this beauty, Circa 1999, stashed away in my desk. 

Way back in 1999, what seems like forever ago, my Senior Girls Volleyball team went to Honolulu Hawaii for a Volleyball trip. I was in grade 11. I fondly remember staying in a beautiful hotel with a rooftop outdoor swimming pool (which I tried desperately to find when I visited Honolulu again in 2009 but could not.), hitting up the outdoor market and getting a beautiful pearl necklace for my grandmother with a pearl that I hand picked from an oyster in a tank, seeing cockroaches for the first time on the street and being terrified, singing at the back of the bus like no one was listening, and burning the crap out of my back snorkeling at Hanauma Bay one day when I forgot to put sunscreen on. 

I was very fortunate as a child/youth in that my parents were able to provide experiences like this for me, and I will make sure to do everything in my power to be able to do the same for my children.
